House of Glenmuick occupies the abandoned castle site of Braichlie in Aberdeenshire, where Daniel Gibson built a residence for Sir James Mackenzie in 1898. The structure displays Tudor details through red sandstone dressings and granite walls, while Thomas Hayton Mawson shaped the adjacent walled garden into one continuous landscape. It remains a lived-in house rather than a museum, preserving the identity of the demolished Glenmuick House through its current name.
