Terraced three-bay three-storey house, c.1800, possibly incorporating fabric of earlier house, c.1550. In use as inn, 1816. Renovated, c.1900, with shopfront inserted to ground floor and rendered façade enrichments added. One of a pair. Pitched slate roof behind parapet with clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stacks, and concealed cast-iron rainwater goods. Painted rendered walls with rendered dressings, c.1900, including moulded modillion cornice supporting blocking course having balustraded parapet over with rendered coping. Square-headed window openings with cut-stone sills, moulded rendered surrounds, c.1900, having pediments to first floor on consoles, entablatures to top floor on consoles, and six-over-six timber sash windows. Timber shopfront, c.1900, to ground floor on a symmetrical plan with paired fluted engaged Doric columns on panelled pedestals, fluted pilasters having consoles, fixed-pane timber display windows on panelled risers having overlights, glazed timber panelled double doors having overlight, and fascia over having moulded cornice. Road fronted with concrete brick cobbled footpath to front.

A well-composed Classically-proportioned middle-size house built as one of a pair (with 12001010/KK-4766-14-10) contributing significantly to the visual appeal of an historic streetscape. Elegant rendered dressings exhibiting high quality craftsmanship enhance the formal architectural design value of the composition while a particularly fine Classical-style shopfront of artistic design importance enlivens the street presence of the site at street level. Having been well maintained the house presents an early aspect with most of the early fabric surviving intact, thereby enhancing the character of the site in High Street.
