What is recorded here
Detached four-bay single-storey direct entry thatched house, built c.1800. Sited at right angle to road. Pitched thatched roof having raised scolloped ridge, and low rendered chimneystacks. Painted smooth rendered walls. Square-headed window openings having painted sills with one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed replacement half-glazed timber door. Outbuilding to west of house having pitched corrugated-iron roof and painted rendered walls with metal doors, and corrugated-iron barn to west. Painted smooth rendered wall and metal gate to boundary.
A direct-entry thatched house with its characteristic small windows, a type once widespread but now becoming increasingly rare. The juxtaposition of outbuildings enhances the siting.
