Detached three-bay two-storey house, built c.1860, having gabled projecting west end bay to front (south) elevation, lean-to porch to west, and lean-to entrance porch to front re-entrant angle. Pitched slate roof with red brick chimneystacks and clay pots. Timber bargeboards and pointed finials, exposed timber roof truss terminals to eaves, dormer window to front and with replacement rainwater goods. Coursed rubble sandstone walls having block-and-start quoins. Gauged-brick square-headed window openings with red brick surrounds, render sills, and timber sliding sash windows, one-over-one pane to east, west and first floor of front elevations, two-over-two pane to first floor rear (north) elevation. Gauged-brick segmental-headed window opening to ground floor of projecting bay having red brick surrounds and replacement uPVC window. Replacement UPVC window to front of lean-to extension and to ground floor rear. Gauged-brick square-headed door opening, with timber panelled door and stone step to east side of porch, timber battened door to rear, timber panelled door to lean-to to west elevation. Low stone boundary wall having stone coping and single-leaf wrought-iron pedestrian gate surrounding yard to front of house.

This simple but elegantly-composed house makes a notable contribution to the streetscape in Scotstown. Its façade is enlivened by decorative timber bargeboards and finials, and the timber sliding sash windows enhance its architectural heritage value. Red brick provides a pleasing contrast to rubble sandstone walls.
