House

Not included in the SMR (1989) but listed in the RMP (1995) and classified 'House'. Not shown on any edition of the OS 6-inch map. In upland boggy and rocky pasture, at the base of the NE-facing slope of Kesh Corann. The remains of a rectangular two-roomed structure (long-axis N-S) with sod-covered stone walls (T 2.1m; int. H 1m; ext. H 0.7m). Both the southern room (7.9m N-S; 3.2m E-W) and the northern room (3.05m N-S; 3.1m E-W) are filled with collapsed stones. A garden area (7.8m x 7m) to S is enclosed by an earthen bank (int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.5m). An enclosure (SL040-003----) is c. 50m to E. This is likely to be post-1700 AD in date.
