Holy well in Knoppoge North — Report the wrong picture

Moin an Bhradáin, the Salmon Well, flows unmarked from a rectangular stone trough in Knoppoge North, feeding the Cashen river. Locals treated it as a living ritual site until recently, drawn by the strange promise hidden in its name. The water still moves, carrying the memory of salmon and prayer into the ordinary current.

This well is not marked on any edition of the OS maps. Situation and Description: This well is situated within a rectangular trough, 2.35m x 1.75m x .65m. A small stream flows out of it towards the Cashen river to the N. The well was very important in the locality up to 20 years ago and was known locally as Moin an Bhradáin, the word bradán (salmon) possibly suggesting a religious connection.
