HMS Opal was a British Royal Navy destroyer launched in 1918 and lost in the North Sea near South Ronaldsay, Orkney, during World War I. The vessel struck a mine on 22 August 1918, resulting in the loss of all 146 crew members, and remains one of the most significant wartime shipwrecks in Scottish waters.
