HMS *Iolaire* was a British Royal Navy vessel that was wrecked on Beasts of Holm, near Lewis in the North Minch on 1 January 1919, resulting in the deaths of 205 sailors, making it one of the worst maritime disasters in Scottish history. The ship had been requisitioned during World War I and was returning its crew to the Western Isles after the war ended; only 13 men survived.
