HMS Dasher was an escort aircraft carrier that was lost in the Firth of Clyde, Scotland, in 1943 after hitting a mine. The ship sank quickly, resulting in the deaths of 326 of the 350 crew members; its loss was a significant blow during World War II due to the high number of casualties and the vessel's role in naval operations.
