Hms Argyll

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Hms Argyll as Cruiser (period Unassigned)-(1915). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

HMS Argyll was a British cruiser launched in 1898 and sunk in 1915 during World War I after striking a mine off the coast of Scotland. The wreck lies near the Orkney Islands; it is considered historically significant as a well-preserved example of late Victorian warship design.
