Historic Settlement Drumbo in Drumbo

Historic Settlement Drumbo

What is recorded here

Drumbo is a post-medieval settlement in County Down, Ireland, where human life clustered around the land long enough to leave behind a recorded archaeological site. The exact layout has faded, but the possibility remains that families farmed, traded, argued, loved and buried their dead within the same boundaries now marked on an official map. The place resists easy description because ordinary repetition, not grand spectacle, shaped it.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as Historic Settlement Drumbo. Recorded period: POST-MED. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
