Hill of Mungo, St Mungo's Well

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Hill of Mungo, St Mungo's Well as Holy Well (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

St Mungo's Well is associated with St Mungo (Columba Cille), the 6th-century patron saint of Glasgow, and is linked to traditions of healing and pilgrimage. The well was believed to have curative properties, particularly for eye ailments, and was a site of medieval Christian devotion.
