Hill O'hirdie, St Curitan's Well

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Hill O'hirdie, St Curitan's Well as Holy Well (medieval), Rag Well (modern), Rag Well (post Medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

St Curitan's Well is associated with the early Christian saint Curitan, venerated in parts of northern Scotland and the Isle of Man. Traditionally linked to healing and the hanging of rags as votive offerings, the well reflects a blend of medieval Christian and pre-Christian ritual practices.
