This blue commemorative plaque records: Hilda Margaret Lyon 1896-1946 M.A., M.Sc., AFRAeS., Aeronautical Engineer, was born and lived here. She helped design the R101 Airship. The first woman to win the Royal Aeronautical Society Prize, the R38 Memorial Prize. She invented the "Lyon Shape".
