This blue commemorative plaque records: Herrington Park In this park stood ancient Herrington Hall from which in 1807 Anne Robinson (1785-1868) married Robert Surtees (1779-1834) historian of the county palatine of Durham Recorded plaque organisation: City of Sunderland.
Anne Robinson and Robert Surtees were married at Herrington Hall in 1807; Surtees is renowned for his comprehensive historical works on County Durham.
