Henry John Pearson (1850-1913) co-founded the Beeston Foundry Company, later known as Beeston Boiler Co, and was a noted ornithologist; his son, Lt Col Noel Gervis Pearson MC DSO (1884-1958), served with distinction in World War I, earning military honors, and both were recognized local philanthropists.
