This blue commemorative plaque records: Here lived Henry Hatch, merchant, adventurer and benefactor of the town. Died 1533. To this house was brought King James II when captured in attempting to leave the kingdom, December, 1688. Recorded plaque organisation: Faversham Borough Council.
Henry Hatch was a merchant and benefactor remembered for his contributions to the town. King James II, captured while trying to flee England during the Glorious Revolution, was brought to this house in December 1688.
