This blue commemorative plaque records: Chichele College. Founded in 1422 by Archbishop Henry Chichele. It fell into disrepair following the dissolution of the monasteries by Henry VIII and was used as an inn and a farm.
Henry Chichele, Archbishop of Canterbury from 1414 to 1443, founded Chichele College in 1422; though the college suffered during the dissolution of the monasteries under Henry VIII, it remains a significant historical and educational institution.
