What is recorded here

This green commemorative plaque records: A Dominican convent occupied the site of this Circus A.D. 1259. In 1539 it was granted to John Lord Russell who converted it into Bedford House where in 1644 was born Princess Henrietta, daughter of King Charles I. In 1773 it was removed and the erection of the present circus commenced.
Princess Henrietta of England, born in 1644 at Bedford House, was a daughter of King Charles I; her life marked the tumultuous period of the English Civil War, though she is less remembered compared to her siblings due to her early death in infancy.

A plaque record does not grant entry to a building or private land. View it from a public place unless permission is clearly given.
