What is recorded here

Detached three-bay single-storey brick cottage, built c.1880. A recent plain glazed lean-to entrance porch is built over the replacement door which is part glazed. To the north is a canted single-storey timber bay. Window openings are all flat-headed with one over one top-hung uPVC frames. The pitched roof is finished with artificial slate and cast-iron rainwater goods; clay decorative crested ridge tiles. One brick and one rendered chimneystack both with corbelled caps and clay pots. The house is slightly set back behind a low rendered wall with square gate pillars and wrought-iron gate.
A modest but nevertheless important example of a somewhat picturesque cottage of the late Victorian era.
