The *Hawthorn* was a motor fishing vessel active in Scottish waters, lost at sea in 1947 during a storm off the coast of Caithness. It sank with all 12 crew members, resulting in one of the deadliest single-ship disasters in Scottish fishing history; the vessel was carrying a full cargo of herring, which was also lost.
