The *Hawnby* was a coaster built in 1919 and registered in Johnshaven, Fife. It was lost in 1940 during the Second World War, likely due to enemy action or mine strike in the North Sea, with no lives lost but carrying a cargo of coal; its wreck remains a notable example of interwar coastal trade vessels in Scottish waters.
