Hartshill Castle stands as a scheduled monument in North Warwickshire, marking the place where Hugh de Hardreshull raised a timber fort in 1125 before John de Hadreshull rebuilt it in stone in 1330. The surviving curtain walls still outline that medieval frame even though the manor house collapsed and vandalism has scarred the site. It remains a private ruin rather than a display, yet the stone boundary and partial moat preserve the shape of a house that outlived its owners.
