This slate commemorative plaque records: In commemoration of local hero 5th Officer Harold Godfrey Lowe who left Barmouth aged 14 to go to sea. He played a heroic role in the rescue of survivors during the tragic sinking of RMS Titanic on 15th April 1912
Harold Lowe was a fifth officer on the RMS Titanic and played a crucial role in rescuing survivors after the ship's tragic sinking in 1912.
