Harestanes Cottages

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Harestanes Cottages as Stone Circle (neolithic) - (bronze Age). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Dated to the Neolithic or Bronze Age, the stone circle at Harestanes Cottages likely served ceremonial or astronomical purposes. Little folklore is recorded, but such circles are often associated with communal gatherings or ritual activity in prehistoric Scotland.
