Hardy Parsons VC was a British Army officer who was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross for his bravery during a German flamethrower attack in 1917 while serving in the First World War. He lived at this address in 1915–1916 before his death, making the site historically significant as the last known civilian residence of a noted war hero.
