This blue commemorative plaque records: Erected by the harbour trustees 1842 Thos. Blaikie esqr. Lord Provost. Alexr. Hadden esqr. Master of Shore Works.
Thomas Blaikie and Alexander Hadden were instrumental in the development of Aberdeen's harbour infrastructure; as Lord Provost and Master of Shore Works respectively, they oversaw the erection of crucial lighthouses in 1842, significantly enhancing maritime safety and facilitating trade.
