What is recorded here

Remains of gunpowder mills, c.1716, now lying ruinous. Only visible remains are that of a depressed archway of one of the stone rubble milll buildings and the stone rubble canalisation of part of a mill race.
These ruins form a major reminder of the historical part Clondalkin played in the early eighteenth century gunpowder industry. The ruins are overgrown at present, but the footprints of this once formidable industry are still visible within the Corkagh Demesne Park.

This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
