Guillemot Ledge

Cliff

What is recorded here

Guillemot Ledge is shown as a cliff on the public map of Dorset. The saved point is the map point or the centre of its mapped shape.
Guillemot Ledge is a sea cliff composed primarily of Jurassic limestone, part of the Portland Stone Formation, which dates to around 145–160 million years old. It formed through the accumulation of marine sediments in a shallow tropical sea and is notable for its role in supporting coastal habitats and as a landmark for seabirds such as guillemots.
