This bronze commemorative plaque records: This stone marks the site of The Needles Wireless Telegraph Station where Guglielmo Marconi and his British collaborators carried out from 6th December 1897 to 26th May 1900 a series of experiments which constituted some of the more important phases of their earlier pioneer work in the development of wireless communication of all kinds.
Guglielmo Marconi was an Italian inventor and electrical engineer, renowned for his pioneering work in long-distance radio transmission and the development of commercial radiotelegraphy. His experiments at The Needles Wireless Telegraph Station were crucial in advancing wireless communication technology.
A plaque record does not grant entry to a building or private land. View it from a public place unless permission is clearly given.
