This blue commemorative plaque records: In this building was established in 1899 the first radio factory in the world by the Wireless Telegraph & Signal Co Ltd. later known as "Marconi's Wireless Telegraph Co Ltd"
Guglielmo Marconi was an Italian inventor and engineer who is credited with developing long-distance radio transmission, founding the Marconi Company in 1897; this building housed the first radio factory established by his company in 1899.
