Bryncaerau Castle rose beside Llanelli during the Post Medieval period, wearing gardens around its walls like a living collar. The grounds may have given its builders and guests room to breathe, grow food, or simply watch the sky change colour after a hard day. Stone and soil both belonged to the same household, neither complete without the other.
