Why this matters
Grey Nag reaches a height of approximately 300 metres and is part of the Cheviot Hills, a range formed primarily of volcanic and granitic rock. It holds local folklore significance as the name "Nag" may derive from a mythical or spectral horse, common in British legend. Its prominence contributes to the cultural and geographical identity of the Northumberland landscape.
