Greencolly Fort — Report the wrong picture

What is recorded here

On the summit of a hill right on the Clare-Galway county boundary. Marked on the 1838 edition of the 1st OS 6-inch map as a subcircular enclosure (c. 60m N-S) opening onto a cliff edge to the W. Evidently levelled by the time of the 1922 edition of the map when the words ‘(Site of)’ are appended. There are no visible remains at ground level. A small cairn of boulders, most likely a trigonometrical cairn, occupies the site. See GA112-028----. Compiled by: Mary Tunney Date of upload: 28 January 2020
