Great Porth Warna

Bay

What is recorded here

Great Porth Warna is shown as a bay on the public map of Isles of Scilly. The saved point is the map point or the centre of its mapped shape.
Great Porth Warna on the Isles of Scilly consists of hard, resistant granite rock, formed during the late Carboniferous to early Permian periods, around 280–300 million years ago. The rock was intruded as a pluton and is notable for its durability, which has allowed it to withstand coastal erosion and form a prominent bay and sea cliff feature.
