What is recorded here
Great Hall is the largest room in a medieval castle or manor, where everyone ate, slept and waited together under one tall roof. In Winchester it still stands as a castle chamber, preserving the scale and shape that made household life possible before private rooms became common. The hall was not a display chamber but a living chamber, crowded with people, fire and noise.
Great Hall is shown as a castle on the public map of Winchester. The saved point is the map point or the centre of its mapped shape.
