The Great Britain is a 19th-century iron-hulled steamship, originally built in 1845 as the SS Great Britain by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. It was later converted to a sailing ship and wrecked in 1856 near the Falkland Islands; no lives were lost, but the vessel was abandoned and eventually broken up, marking a significant example of early industrial maritime engineering.
