Mortars dragged through Antrim clay, balls of blue flame spitting across the valley, men falling like wheat in a storm. The monastery held only because women threw water jars at the dragons until the beasts drowned in steam. Grace lived inside that monastery, not behind it. She is the reason the valley still stands.
