Graveyard

Cemetery

What is recorded here

Killower means Cill Uabhair, a small church cell beside a graveyard that has probably accepted burials for over a thousand years. The name preserves an early Christian anchor in east Galway, while the particular person or community it honoured has faded from memory. Stones, soil and repetition did the remembering instead: each generation laid its dead beside the last, building a library no one can easily read but everyone can feel.
Graveyard is a cemetery in County Galway, Ireland.
