Graveslab in Unknown Townland holds the remains of Edmond Liniger, a Dublin plasterer who died in 1676. The stone lies buried beneath the old Green Churchyard, now closed and forgotten beside St Patrick’s Cathedral. Liniger mixed lime and sand for other men’s buildings, then joined the earth he helped shape. His name still emerges through the dirt when rain washes the graveyard clean.

17th-century graveslab/tablet of Dublin City Plasterer Edmond Liniger (died 25th of August 1676) located in the disused graveyard (DU018-494----) formerly known as the ‘Green Churchyard’ or the ‘Vicar’s Bawn' located to the E and SE of St Patrick’s Cathedral (DU018-020269-) which was closed for burials in 1868. Inscription on the graveslab / small tablet transcribed by Mrs. T. Long in 1905 as follows; ‘On a tablet, or very small slab, near the south-east entrance to the Cathedral, is the following inscription:, HERE LIES THE BODIE OF EDMOND LINIGER PLAIESTERER WHO DIED AVGVST YE 25 1676 . .
