Graveslab in Townparks (ardee By.) holds the oldest noted grave-slabs at St. Mary's, marking Thomas Smart in 1683 and Mary Hatch in 1695. Those dates turn a quiet graveyard into a witness of Ardee’s changing life. People may have walked past them for centuries, reading stone before paper and remembering neighbours across generations.
