Graveslab in Tiaquin Demesne

Graveslab

What is recorded here

Graveslab in Tiaquin Demesne, County Galway, marks one life or a small cluster of burials beneath an open demesne landscape. The slab may have stood proud for centuries before hedges, roads or forgetting pulled it back into soil. Whoever lay beneath it gave up heat, argument and memory, leaving only a flat stone to mark the difference between living and gone.
