Graveslab in Rathduff (madden) is a tapering stone at Kells Priory, possibly reused as a doorway threshold after serving a dead canon. Its faint lines still hint at decoration, while its new position suggests the living claimed back what burial had taken.

One of a large number of graveslabs (KK027-029005-; KK027-029015-, KK027-029016-, KK027-029021- to KK027-029051-) found at Kells Priory for Augustinian canons (KK027-029004-) which have been described and catalogued by Higgins (2007, 453-67). A tapering slab (L 0.63m; Wth 0.28-0.31m), possibly reused, with indistinct and indeterminate lines which suggest it may have been decorated. It was incorporated into the threshold of the doorway leading from the chancel to the Lady chapel. (Higgins 2007, cat. no. 33, 467). Ref.: Higgins, J. 2007 The medieval funerary monuments. In M.
