Graveslab in Gardens (kilkenny City By., St. Mary’s Par.) is a rectangular fossiliferous limestone vault marker at St Mary's parish church in Kilkenny. It bears rough Roman capitals spelling “This is the intrance of Mr. Jasper Roothe Monument,” and it probably guards the vault below the tomb of Richard Rothe Fitz Edward. Jasper Rothe is recorded as dying in 1623, so the slab may still be pointing downward through centuries of church traffic, wedding bells and forgotten grief.

At St Mary's parish church (KK019-026115-) in Kilkenny. Plain inscribed rectangular slab (L 0.84m; Wth 0.44m), composed of fossiliferous limestone, which functions as a vault marker. The slab marked the entrance to the vault of Jasper Roothe, which is probably the vault below the tomb of Richard Rothe Fitz Edward. It is roughly tooled with Roman capitals that reads: This is the intrance/ of Mr. Jasper Roothe/ Monument. A Jasper Rothe is recorded by Burtchaell as having died in 1623 (Burtchaell 1886, pedigree).
