Graveslab

What is recorded here

Graveslab in Gardens (kilkenny City By., St. Mary’s Par.) is a tombstone with an incised cross, buried beneath the foundations of a later building in County Kilkenny. It may have marked a forgotten grave before the town grew upward, swallowing the dead beneath new walls. The cross still points downward now, waiting for someone to read what the soil once hid.
