Graveslab in Gardens (kilkenny City By., St. Mary’s Par.) is a 13th/14th-century uninscribed fragment now embedded in the west wall of St Mary's parish church. Its fossiliferous limestone surface still shows an incised cross-shaft with a trefoil base, marking a burial that predates the 1820 tower beside it. The church reused the slab as building material, turning a private death into a permanent feature of the nave's exterior.
