What is recorded here

Graveslab in Friarsland, County Galway: a buried marker, not a building. The name itself is a confession: someone died there, was set down, and the land closed over the event. No date, no witness, no story has reached us. Only the function remains, repeated in the naming. A life ended, a body was placed, a stone or row of marks identified the spot, and time removed the rest. What is recorded is not a chamber or hall but a death made visible. The region keeps ordinary endings plain, without praise or invention.
