Graveslab in Fethard

Formally located in the graveyard (TS070-040031-) at the base of the S wall of the medieval parish church of St John the Baptist (TS070-040001-), currently Holy Trinity C of I church, this fragment is currently unlocated. A corner fragment (dims 0.54m x 0.24m; T 0.9m) of a graveslab with a chamfered edge (Wth 0.01m), possibly the upper dexter corner as there is a decorated 'H', probably the beginning of 'HIC', at the top. There is a suggestion that there were two further narrower horizontal bands of inscription across the top beneath the top border, with a 'D' and 'QUOD' being legible. Along the dexter border there is a fragment of the inscription which is in latin, in Black Letter script, it appears to read: MONE 6o ANO. The cross-head does not appear to have either trefoil or fleur-de-lis terminals but it is diffcult to discern the cross type based on such fragmentary remains.
