Graveslab in Clonroad Beg is a limestone slab unearthed in the transept of Ennis Friary, bearing the names Teig O’Brien and Daniel O’Brien in false relief. It probably marks Teig of Ballingown, who died in 1578, and his father-in-law, while a separate block showing the O’Brien crest may still sit beneath the chancel window. The stones survived burial and movement, preserving a local lineage that oral memory may have forgotten.

On a sedilia on the S wall of the nave of Ennis Friary (CL033-082001-). Unearthed in the transept according to Westropp (1895-7, 37), a limestone slab (H 0.9m; Wth 0.39m; T 0.15m) with the following inscription in false relief ….. ‘TEIG O’BR(ien)…/ (Da)NIEL C/ …EIG McT ……/ H Mc M…../ VELLYN/RO GG’. It probably refers to Teig of Ballingown (died. 1578) and his father-in-law, Daniel O’Brien. According to Westropp (ibid.) a 'block' with the O’Brien crest (a dexter arm and hand holding a dagger) was found in association with the slab.
