Graveslab in Baile Chláir is a 1.82m stone slab set north of the central aisle column, carrying a plough, a small cross and a prayer for Hugh McCathe, his wife Ivne Kien, their son and their posterity. The chamber still smells of damp earth and old wax, and the names rise like breath from a forgotten room. To stand before it is to be invited into a household that stopped speaking but never stopped being remembered.

Located to the N of the central aisle column in the friary (GA070-035001-). Described by Bradley and Dunne (1992, 61) as a slab (L 1.82m; Wth 0.76m; T 0.15m) decorated with a plough and small cross and bearing the following inscription: PRAY FOR THE SOVLE/ OF HVGH McCATHE/ IVNE KIEN HIS WI/ FE AND ……./ THEIRE SON & THEIR/ POSTERITY The following image has been uploaded: GA070-035017-_01.jpg Compiled by: Olive Alcock Date of upload: 17 July 2018
